Joymount Arms ("Ownies") Carrickfergus

Situated in the Scotch Quarter, the Joymount Arms was established 200 years ago and is one of the oldest pubs in the area. The original operated as a Spirit Grocer where you could indulge whilst buying your groceries. Except for the groceries, the modern establishment still fulfils these basic needs! A family-run business, Joymount Arms describes itself as "the coziest bar in town" and few people would disagree with this. All ages flock to "Ony's" - the typical Irish country pub atmosphere appeals to students, smartly dressed couples and old men standing at the bar.
